Shakespeare would have loved this bed of roses, a mixture of colour, ranging from deep burgundy to bright yellows, mauves, apricot and the purest white. It is a casual rather than a formal rose garden.
“O my Luve’s like a red, red rose
That’s newly sprung in June;
O my Luve’s like the melodie
That’s sweetly play’d in tune.”
(Robert Burns)
